Check out the  Center for Environmental Farming Systems’ (CEFS) 2020 Sustainable Agriculture Apprenticeship Program. Several different apprenticeships will be offered including a PASTURED LIVESTOCK PRODUCTION APPRENTICESHIP based at CEFS’ Field Research, Education, and Outreach Facility at Cherry Research Farm in Goldsboro, NC. This paid 40 hour/week apprenticeship will last 6-9 months with an ideal start date of March 2020.

This apprenticeship will provide an individual with skills in pastured dairy, pork, and beef production. It will build a solid foundation for the following career paths: research assistant, research technician, farm manager assistant, and a variety of higher education or graduate programs in related fields. Many apprentices at the animal units have gone on to veterinary school.
