NC FarmLink is partnering with the University of Wisconsin to host the Farm Succession Coordinator Certification Training in Shelby, NC, on Nov 7-9th.  In NC, over 50% of farmers are over the age of 65, and there is a major need for skilled service providers who can help farmers navigate the complexities of farm transfers and transitions. The training is for service providers who work with farmers on succession issues, like extension agents, soil and water staff, land trust staff, loan officers, financial planners, and attorneys.  The training provides insight into barriers to farm succession planning, strategies for working with farm families, facilitation tools to guide the planning process, and practice with farm succession case studies.

Registration fees are $950/person if registered before September 16th, 2022, or $1,000 after. Organizations that register three or more people can receive a group discount of $100/person. 

Registration fees include training materials, lunches, morning/afternoon refreshments and a 2022-2023 International Farm Transition Network membership. Registration does not include lodging, travel costs, or CLE costs. The Fairfield Inn and Suites in Shelby, a new hotel less than five minutes from training, has set aside a block of rooms at rate of $96 per night.
