There are options available for farmers, landowners, and members of farm families to assess and plan for a change in the farm’s management due to retirement, succession, or other farm transitions.
Planning ahead and making a plan before it's time for the change is strongly recommended, and we have resources and staff available to help you through the process.
We have upcoming workshops, led by Stephen Bishop, the Western NC FarmLink Director.
Farm Succession Planning Workshop Schedule:
Cherokee County: January 19th at 1 pm
Graham County: January 19th at 5 pm
Haywood County: February 16th at 5:30 pm
Additional resources and information about farm transition and legacy planning can be found on the NC FarmLink website, as provided by Dr. Noah Ranells, Eastern NC FarmLink Director.
We have two ways to list your property on our site: by creating a profile on our database and listing your property directly, or by filling out our paper application and sharing it with our staff. On the paper application, there is an option to publish your property/farm opportunity on our database, or to keep it private, where land seekers can not see it, so NC FarmLink staff would coordinate any possible matches directly.
